Music is life! It lives within us: in our heartbeats, the variation of our breathing according to emotion, our very personal voice, the first cry of the new born baby. It is opening to life! These tears of joy or emotion, more or less restrained, when listening to a voice, an instrument or an ensemble, show how music exists and vibrates in us. It is all the more magnificent when it is shared in a communion of different and united human beings. Artists share all the emotional vibrations of living music.

Our association aims to rediscover this essential value of music, vital to our harmonious development, vital to humanity, which produces music everywhere and at all times.

With this in mind, the association contributes to the democratization of music, making it accessible to all audiences, bringing them together through the promotion of high-quality shows.

It makes concerts accessible to young people, students and apprentices for up to 26 years of age and unemployed people with affordable tickets (supporting documents will be requested).

Under the brand name« Beauvaisis Terre de Culture » (Beauvaisis land of culture), our association participates in maintaining artistic and cultural excellence in the Beauvaisis area.

Music makes connections that our festival wishes to develop:
- by encouraging the listening and sharing of music through the Festival concerts, which host remarkable artists.
- by encouraging musical practice by young cellists (from 1st grade to senior students)who meet around a project shared with their teachers and the Festival artists within the Ensemble “Fourmilière”,
- by encouraging the development of remarkable young cellists during master classes, including the exceptional "master class with orchestra", unique in Europe.
- by offering young people the opportunity to make the instrument speak during introductory workshops, that conclude with a their own rewarding performance to give them a taste for music.
- by sharing with disabled people the emotions awaken by the vibrations of the instrument.

"It has been rightfully said that the purpose of music is emotion. No other art will awake the human feeling in people’s heart in such a sublime way."
Consuelo, George Sand (1843)

Our Actions
Our actions are organized around four pillars

By enabling the promotion, dissemination and development of a remarkable and diversified musical heritage, particularly around music for cello or with cello, the association encourages the sharing of exceptional moments of high emotional intensity.
Musical creation is encouraged: a work is commissioned from a composer and is performed for the first time during a festival concert. Feeding and participating in the renewal of the cello repertoire is one of the association's missions

Promoting our region

The Beauvais Cello Festival is an event which aura extends to the whole region, through the values of conviviality, creativity and local presence that we bring, and thanks to the very high quality standards of the artists programmed by Emmanuelle Bertrand, international cellist, teacher and artistic director of the Festival.
We encourage encounters with artists in prestigious heritage sites of Beauvais. We develop very constructive partnerships, by co-organizing concerts, in particular with the Théâtre du Beauvaisis.

Democratization of culture towards all audiences

We build projects for musical meetings between cellists from the region, students, teachers and experienced artists from Beauvais and beyond.
We promote and organize the animation of educational workshops introducing young people to cello playing, from kindergarten to high school, as a leisure and after-school activity.
This democratization of access to culture is made possible by preferential rates for young people, students and people holding a social benefit card.

Governance of the organisation

We are responsible for the use of subsidies and assistance received.
Our duty is to set up the organization of events that gather the greatest number of festival-goers, student musicians, parents, music lovers, amateurs and professionals...
